Change what screens show at set times

Have each screen switch playlist on its own: a Jumu'ah playlist on Fridays, something different between Maghrib and Isha, a Ramadan playlist for the whole month. Set it once and nobody needs to touch it again.

How it works

Make a playlist for each occasion first. See Make slides and playlists. Then, on the Screens page, give each screen an everyday playlist and add others for certain times. There are three ways to time a playlist:

  • Days and times: on chosen days of the week, all day or between two clock times. For example, Fridays from 12:30 to 14:00.
  • Set dates: from one date and time to another. For example, the whole of Ramadan, or an Eid weekend.
  • Around prayers: from one prayer to another, following your timetable as it changes through the year. For example, from Maghrib adhan to Isha adhan.

Whenever none of these is on, the screen shows its Every day playlist. The screen switches by itself at the right minute. It doesn't need the internet to do it, because it keeps your playlists and prayer times saved.

Show a playlist at certain times

    Open Screens then My Screens

    Press Playlists on the screen you want to set up

    Under At certain times, press Show a playlist at certain times

    Choose the Playlist

    Under When, choose Days and times, Set dates or Around prayers, then fill in the days, times, dates or prayers

    Press Add

The line at the top of the panel shows what the screen will show through today, so you can check it straight away.

Each timed playlist in the panel can be paused and turned back on, changed or removed. Set dates that have ended are marked Finished.

Good to know

The Screens page is the only place to choose what a screen shows. A playlist's own page lists the screens it Shows on, but you change them from the Screens page.

Playlists tied to prayer times

Choose Around prayers. Then set:

  • From prayer, and whether to start at its Adhan or Jamaat.
  • Minutes after: how many minutes after that to start. Use a minus number to start before, such as -15.
  • Until prayer, At its and Minutes after for when it stops.
  • The days, if it should only run on some days. Leave them all off for every day.

If a jamaat time is missing for a day, the adhan time is used. The start and end prayer must be different.

When two overlap

The way it's timed decides, in this order:

So a Ramadan playlist on set dates beats your Friday playlist.

Every day

Choose your everyday playlist under Every day in the screen's Playlists panel.

Jumu'ah

Days and times with F ticked, from 12:30 to 14:00, showing your Jumu'ah playlist. Change the times to suit your khutbah.

Or, to follow the timetable: Around prayers, tick F, from Zuhr at its Adhan with -30 minutes after, until Asr at its Adhan.

Take care

Prayer times here are your daily Zuhr times, not your Jumu'ah schedule. If you start a Friday playlist at Zuhr jamaat, it uses the Zuhr jamaat in your timetable for that Friday. Clock times or the Zuhr adhan are more reliable.

After Maghrib

Ramadan

Set dates from the first day of Ramadan at 00:00 to the last day at 23:59, showing your Ramadan playlist. Set the end time on purpose: it stops at exactly that minute.

While set dates are running they beat everything else, so your Friday and after-Maghrib playlists pause for the month.

Good to know

  • Every screen has an Every day playlist. It's what the screen goes back to when nothing else is timed.
  • To stop a timed playlist, pause or remove it in the screen's Playlists panel. Switching the playlist itself to Inactive doesn't stop it showing.
  • A screen's card in My Screens shows what it's showing now, and until when.
  • Screens that are on pick up changes within a few seconds.

Which plan

Timed playlists need a Masjid or Network licence. On the Free plan you choose one playlist for each screen and it shows all the time.
