Scheduling Content on Screens

Show different content at different times. Jumuah playlists at 1pm, evening content after Maghrib — all automatic.

Overview

Playlist scheduling lets you assign different playlists to a screen at different times. For example: a general playlist during the day, a Jumuah-specific playlist from 12:30 to 14:00 on Fridays, and an evening playlist after Maghrib. The system switches automatically — no manual intervention needed.

Growth plan feature

Playlist scheduling is available on the Growth plan and above. Free and Starter plans can assign one playlist per screen only.

How Scheduling Works

Each screen has a default playlist that shows when no schedule is active. You then add time slots that override the default for specific periods.

  • Default playlist — What the screen shows when no scheduled slot is active.
  • Time slots — Start time, end time, and which playlist to show. Slots can recur daily, weekly, or on specific dates.
  • Overlap handling — If two slots overlap, the more specific one (e.g. Friday-only) takes precedence over a general daily slot.

Setting Up a Schedule

  1. 1

    Go to Scheduling

In the admin dashboard, open Scheduling from the sidebar.
  2. 2

    Select a screen

Choose the screen you want to schedule. You can set different schedules for different screens.
  3. 3

    Set the default playlist

Assign the playlist that should run when no time slot is active. This is your baseline content.
  4. 4

    Add a time slot

Click Add Slot. Choose the playlist, start time, end time, and recurrence (daily, weekly, or date range). For Jumuah, you might add a Friday-only slot from 12:30 to 14:00.
  5. 5

    Save

The schedule takes effect immediately. Screens will switch playlists at the specified times.

Example: Jumuah and evening

Default: General playlist (verses, announcements, prayer times). Friday 12:30–14:00: Jumuah playlist (khutbah times, Jumuah notices). Daily 18:00–21:00: Evening playlist (post-Maghrib content, event reminders).

Tips and Best Practices

Ramadan

Create a Ramadan playlist and use date-range scheduling to switch to it for the month. Set the start date to the first day of Ramadan and the end date to Eid.

Buffer time

Start your Jumuah slot 15–30 minutes before the khutbah so worshippers see the right content when they arrive.

Test first

Add a short test slot (e.g. 5 minutes) to verify the switch works before relying on it for Jumuah.

If You Don't Have Scheduling

Free and Starter plans

Playlist scheduling is not available. You can assign one playlist per screen only.

Manual playlist swaps

When you need different content (e.g. for Jumuah), go to the Screens page, select the screen, and change its assigned playlist. Swap back after the prayer.

Use Screen Announcements

For one-off time-sensitive messages (Jumuah time change, janazah, urgent notices), use Screen Announcements. They overlay all screens instantly and expire automatically. Set urgency to Urgent for emergency-style alerts.

Upgrade for automation

If you frequently need different content at different times, the Growth plan removes the need for manual swaps. Compare plans.
