Community app
A masjid app for your prayer times, notices and events

Why it matters
Notices get lost in busy WhatsApp groups
Many masjids share news in WhatsApp groups. They fill up fast, people mute them, and a janazah notice ends up between forwarded videos. Paying for an app of your own is expensive and needs someone to look after it.
The Community app puts your masjid on people's phones without any of that. There is nothing to build: what you add in the portal shows up in the app.
What people see in the app
A home screen with a countdown to the next jamaat and today's start and jamaat times, then the week ahead, with a reminder for each prayer if they want one.
Your notices and events. People can book a place at a talk or an iftar from the app, and open your donate page when giving is switched on.
Messages that pop up on their phone, for a change of jamaat time, a janazah or an appeal. You send these from the portal.
A Qibla compass, a Quran reader and, if you switch it on, Ask the imam, where people send questions for your imam to answer.
It is one app shared by many masjids, not an app with your masjid's name on it. People search for your masjid and follow it. Your listing comes with every paid licence.
Getting people to download it
The portal gives you a short link, masjidconnect.co.uk/app, an A4 poster with a QR code and a ready-made slide for your screens.

From a masjid that uses it
The product can adapt to the needs of the masjid rather than the masjid having to adapt to the software.
“In my experience, MasjidConnect represents very good value for money, particularly when you take into account the functionality, flexibility and excellent customer support.”
Questions about the masjid app
Is there an app for our masjid?
Yes. MasjidConnect Community is a free app where people follow your masjid and see your prayer times, notices and events. Your masjid's listing comes with a paid MasjidConnect licence.
Does our masjid get its own app?
No. It is one shared app, and your masjid has its own page in it. That keeps the cost down, and there is nothing for you to publish or keep up to date in the app stores.
Is the app on Android?
It is on iPhone now. Android is coming soon.
How much does the masjid app cost?
The app is free for worshippers. For your masjid to be in it, you need the Masjid licence (£499 once) or the Network licence (£999 once). There is no monthly fee.
Can we send notifications to people's phones?
Yes. Write a message in the portal and it pops up on the phones of everyone who follows your masjid. It suits jamaat changes, janazah news and appeals.
Where do the prayer times in the app come from?
From the portal, the same place as your screens and website. Change a jamaat time once and the app shows the new time too.
