Seven screens at Lye Ghausia, run from one place

Lye Ghausia Jamia Masjid is on the High Street in Lye, Stourbridge. Osman, one of the masjid's volunteers, looks after its seven MasjidConnect screens. The masjid has used it since March 2026.

One screen on all day, six for the busy times

The portrait screen in the main front hall stays on all day. It shows the day's start and jamaat times, with notices next to them.

The other six mostly come on for Jumu'ah and larger gatherings, when the masjid is full and many more people need to see the same message. Each screen has its own set of slides, chosen for where it hangs.

“One portrait screen in our main front hall is on throughout the day, displaying prayer times alongside important notices and announcements.”

Start times worked out for them

The screens work out the start times from the calculation settings the masjid chose, so nobody has to type them in.

The landscape screen above the main hall entrance shows the whole day along the bottom and counts down to the next jamaat.

“Prayer times can be automatically calculated based on our preferred settings, and we can create different playlists for different screens depending on where they are located and what we want to display.”

When one message matters more

Most of the time each screen is split between the prayer times and the slides. When something has to stand out, Osman can put one message across the whole screen for a while. Then the screen goes back to normal.

“I particularly like the ability to put up a full-screen announcement when something needs to stand out.”

Du'as after jamaat, because they asked

The masjid wanted the du'as people often recite after salah to stay on the screens for about five minutes once jamaat ends. We added it for them. Any masjid can now turn it on.

“That kind of flexibility makes a real difference, as it means the product can adapt to the needs of the masjid rather than the masjid having to adapt to the software.”

Why they chose MasjidConnect

Lye Ghausia had not used a screen system before. Osman looked at other products and compared what they did and what they cost.

They chose it because they liked the look of the screens, which they found clean and modern, and because they did not want a monthly subscription for something like this. MasjidConnect has no monthly fee.

“The system has a great range of features and, importantly, is very flexible.”

In Osman’s words

After using it for six months across seven screens, I would happily recommend MasjidConnect to other masjids looking for a reliable, flexible and easy-to-manage digital display system.
