Take donations online and by card
Bring in takings from the SumUp card readers you already use, and give your masjid a donate page for online gifts and QR codes. Every gift then counts towards the same totals.

Bring in your SumUp card reader takings
If you already take donations on a SumUp card reader or tap-to-give box, link your SumUp account and those takings appear in Donations next to everything else.
- 1
Open Donations then Ways to give
- 2
On Card readers and tap-to-give boxes, press Link SumUp
- 3
Sign in to SumUp and allow access
MasjidConnect can only read your takings. It can't take money or change anything in your SumUp account.
- 4
Press Sync now to bring in the last 30 days
After that, new takings come in each time someone opens Donations, or when you press Sync now. Card reader payments are anonymous and go in as general donations.
Take care
Every sale on your SumUp account is counted as a donation. If you also sell books or food on the same account, edit or delete those payments, or use a separate SumUp account for donations.
Which plan
Linking SumUp card readers needs a Masjid or Network licence.
Using a different giving box or kiosk? Press Tell us which one on the same card and we'll look at linking it.
Set up an online donate page with Stripe
Stripe gives your masjid a donate page where people choose an amount and an appeal, and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. They can also set up a weekly, monthly or yearly gift. You'll need your masjid's bank details and the details of the person responsible for the account.
- 1
Open Settings then Online giving
- 2
On the Stripe card, press Set up Stripe donations
Fill in the form with your bank account and identity details. It all happens inside MasjidConnect. If you stop halfway, press Continue onboarding later.
- 3
Choose your donate page link
Under Donation page settings, set the Donation page URL, for example your-masjid-name. Choose whether donors are offered to cover the fees. Press Save settings.
- 4
Under Active donation processor, choose Stripe
Your link is then shown on Ways to give with a QR code and a Copy button. Stripe pays the money into your bank account.
Which plan
Stripe works on every plan. Our fee on online gifts is 2.5% on the Free plan and 1% on a Masjid or Network licence. Stripe's own card fee is on top. Donors can choose to cover the fees.
Use a SumUp payment page instead
If you'd rather keep everything in SumUp, you can point your donate link at a SumUp payment page you've made in your own SumUp account.
- 1
Open Settings then Online giving
- 2
On the SumUp card, fill in Short link for your donation page and SumUp payment page URL
- 3
Leave Donation page enabled on and press Save changes
- 4
Under Active donation processor, choose SumUp
Donors land on your page, press Continue to SumUp to pay, and choose the amount on SumUp. These gifts reach Donations through your SumUp link, as long as your card readers are linked as above. There's no appeal choice, regular giving or Community app Donate button with this option, and we don't add a fee.
Which plan
The SumUp option needs a Masjid or Network licence.
