Prayer times

Put prayer times on your website

Put your live prayer times, Jumu'ah and notices on your masjid's own website. They update by themselves whenever you change something in the portal, so nobody has to edit the website.

The five widgets

  • Today's prayer times: begin and jamaat times for today, with the next jamaat picked out. Good for a homepage or a sidebar.
  • Monthly timetable: the whole month in a table. Today is picked out, Fridays show the first Jumu'ah, and jamaat times are underlined on the day they change. Visitors can move between months and print the month or save it as a PDF.
  • Next jamaat: one line saying which jamaat is next and how long to go, for a website header or footer. It also comes as a card with a countdown.
  • Jumu'ah: this Friday's khutbah and jamaat times for each Jumu'ah, with a short note such as parking or which hall.
  • Notices: your live announcements from your slides, as a list or a one-line bar.

Which plan

The Free plan has two widgets, Today's prayer times and the Monthly timetable, with "Powered by MasjidConnect" under them. The Masjid licence has up to 10 widgets of every kind, your own highlight colour and no MasjidConnect name. The Network licence has no limit.

Make a widget

  1. 1

Open Website widgets and press Add a widget, then pick one

  2. 2

    Give it a Name

Only you see the name. It helps when you have more than one.

  3. 3

    Pick a Look

Match my website uses your website's own font and text colour with no box around it. Light card is a white card with a thin border. Navy card is our dark card.

  4. 4

    Choose what to show

For example jamaat times, sunrise, the Islamic date, Arabic prayer names, or 12-hour or 24-hour times. The preview changes as you go.

  5. 5

    Check the preview

Press Sidebar, Phone, Page and Full width to see how it fits each space, or drag the slider. The widget lays itself out to fit.

  6. 6

Press Save and get the code

Add it to your website

  1. 1

    Pick your website builder

There are tabs for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and Other website, each with its own steps.

  2. 2

    Press Copy code

  3. 3

    Paste it into your website

On WordPress, add a Custom HTML block. On Wix, use Embed Code then Embed HTML. On Squarespace, add a Code block. If someone else looks after your website, send them the code.

If your website won't run scripts, press Use the iframe version under the code. The Facebook or WhatsApp tab gives you a link and a QR code that open the widget on a page of its own.

  • You only paste the code once. When you change the widget or your prayer times, the website catches up within a few minutes.
  • Once someone opens the page with the widget on it, Website widgets shows which website it's live on and how many times it was seen in the last 30 days.
  • To take a widget off your website without removing the code, press the three dots and Turn off. Press Turn back on to bring it back.
  • If you set up the older prayer times widget, it's on the list as "Prayer times (from before)". The code already on your website keeps working and shows the new design.
